The trail to Crater lake starts at the top of Molas Pass at Andrews Lake. The hike to Crater Lake is about 5.5 miles it took me about 2:30 to get to the lake. I hit the trail at about 7:00 am and I was the first person out. The hiked started with a lot of birds flying all around the trail. This gave way blue skies and beautiful quite hiking. The trail is mostly flat with rolling hills. At the lake the wildflowers are in bloom and the reflection the lake is wonderful. A hike up the ridge to the east reveals a awesome view of the valley below.
